Page 2 of 120 1.0 Purpose and Scope Purpose What it is The environmental product content specification outlines environmental requirements for Intel suppliers and outsourced manufacturers. Why use it Intel sets high environmental compliance standards for its products and requires that its suppliers and outsource manufacturers meet those same compliance standards. REQUIREMENTS: In this specification, environmental requirements are defined in Section 3 below. • Manufacturing restrictions • Product content restrictions • Intel EU RoHS 2 exemption expiration requirement • Battery content restrictions • Packaging requirements • Future Material Restriction and/or Reporting • Material Declaration Requirements DOCUMENTATION: This document shall be referenced in the contract & the purchasing agreement document. AFFIRMING TO THE EPC: Upon request, all part and/or material suppliers must review this specification & sign the conformance form in Attachment C (EPC conformance form). The signed form must be returned to either the Intel Commodity Manager or submitted directly through the supplier portal (see reference section for link). In order for a supplier to use the portal, they must first register (see registration link in reference section). If assistance is required, please use the support application in the supplier portal. Conformance using Intel Supplier Portal: Intel requires that the mandatory document be submitted through Intel’s Compliance Portal. Information on how to register and submit collateral can be found at the Environmental page of the Supplier portal. (see link in reference section) DECLARATION OF CONFORMANCE: Intel has adopted the latest industry standards for materials declaration data exchange. Intel accepts reporting formats in either IPC 1752A or IEC 62474 standards. Suppliers are required to provide a material declaration form for each part, product or product family supplied to Intel, which includes disclosures for Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulations, Cal Prop 65, low halogen initiative, etc. Suppliers are required to submit Class-D: full material disclosure (FMD) according to IPC 1752A standard for products such as integrated circuits and articles used to assemble integrated circuits; suppliers can submit Class-C according to IPC 1752A or IEC 62474 standard for products such as board
