Why does the UniPHY CORDROP_ERROR register show a non-zero value?

Environment

  • Quartus® II Software
  • DDR3 SDRAM Controller with UniPHY Intel® FPGA IP
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Why does the UniPHY CORDROP_ERROR register show a non-zero value?

    Resolution

When you have ECC enabled with Auto Correction in your DDR3 UniPHY memory controller, you may see that the UniPHY Auto Correction Drop (CORDROP_ERROR) register contains a non-zero value. This register will increment when the error address FIFO in the controller is full, and the controller cannot schedule an auto-correction command.
