Why won't the MII interface stop transmitting frame when Triple Speed Ethernet IP MegaCore MAC operating mode is switched from half to full duplex?

Environment

  • Ethernet
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

This further leads to continue sending data out from MAC even there is no traffic at Avalon®-ST on TX FIFO. This problem would still happen when the mode change is made after SW_RESET is successful, provided the TX block is still transmitting data.

    Resolution

The following patch provides a solution to make sure Triple Speed Ethernet IP MegaCore® incorporates TX data transmission status in SW_RESET process. Now SW_RESET can only be complete when TX data and RX data transmission are stopped, avoiding conflict with mode change.
