Environment

Description

This error message is seen if the NICID/HOSTID(s) contained in the SERVER lines of a license file do not match the NICID/HOSTID(s) detected by the FlexLm License Server process.  

The SERVER lines are set based on the NICID/HOSTID specified on the Computer Record used to generate the License in the License Self Service Center.

Notes for Triple Redundant License files:

  1. The License file must be hosted on all specified servers
  2. The servers must be able to communicate over a network
  3. The License file cannot be edited to remove server(s)

Examples of illegal changes, SERVER lines have been commented out: 

SERVER <hostname> 000C29CEF622 <port>
#SERVER <hostname> 0022194147b2 <port>
#SERVER <hostname> 0022194188b2 <port>

If you do not wish to use the redundant servers in a license file, the license file must be regenerated in the Self Service License Center after removing the redundant servers from the Computer Record.

Steps to remove the redundant servers for the license file in the Self Service License Center:

  1. Go to  Self Service License Center
  2. Click on manage computer
  3. Click on edit
  4. Remove the redundant server ID's
  5. Click update
  6. Click the get the license file button
