Why can't I find the FIR compiler under Altera DSP Builder Standard Blockset/MegaCore Functions in the Simulink Library Browser?

Description

The FIR compiler is no longer supported in either the Standard or Advanced blocksets.

After installing Quartus® II  and DSP builder versions 14.0 and higher, you will not see the FIR compiler among MegaCore functions in the Simulink Library Browser, under Altera DSP Builder Standard Blockset/MegaCore Functions.  Unfortunately it's still shown in the DSP Builder Standard User Guide.

Workaround/Fix

Though there is no longer FIR compiler support in DSP Builder, there are FIR filters available under the Advanced Blockset>Filters category in the Library browser.

If you need to use other blocks from the Standard library, please refer to Chapt. 9 "DSP Builder Standard and Advanced Blockset Interoperability" in the DSP Builder Advanced handbook.
