Why do I see clear box output file warnings when compiling the Altera Triple Speed Ethernet (TSE) IP in the Quartus II software?

Environment

Description

Due to a problem with the automatically generated Triple Speed Ethernet (TSE) IP QIP file you may see warnings such as the ones below while compiling a design containing the TSE IP in the Quartus® II software.

Warning (12136): Clear box output file <...>/altera_tse_altgx_civgx_gige.v is not compatible with the current compile. Used regenerated output file <...>/db/altera_tse_altgx_civgx_gige.v for elaboration
Warning (12136): Clear box output file <...>/altera_tse_altgx_civgx_gige_wo_rmfifo.v is not compatible with the current compile. Used regenerated output file <...>/db/altera_tse_altgx_civgx_gige_wo_rmfifo.v for elaboration

The reason for these warnings is that the automatically generated TSE QIP file contains the file list for all devices and all variants of the IP rather that the specific files required for the generated implementation.

Resolution

These warnings can be ignored.

If you would like to remove these warnings then you should comment out the offending lines within the automatically generated TSE QIP file.

This problem is scheduled to be resolved in a future version of the TSE IP.
