Error: native_phy_ip.xcvr_native_s10_htile_0: The current value "8" for parameter "CTLE AC Gain" (rx_ctle_ac_gain) is invalid. Possible valid values are: "4"

Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition software version 18.1.1, you may see the following errors when you set the Intel Stratix® 10 H-tile production device Native PHY IP RX Analog Adaptation mode to Manual CTLE, Manual VGA, DFE Off.

Error: native_phy_ip.xcvr_native_s10_htile_0: The current value "8" for parameter "CTLE AC Gain" (rx_ctle_ac_gain) is invalid. Possible valid values are: "4".
Error: native_phy_ip.xcvr_native_s10_htile_0: The current value "32" for parameter "CTLE EQ Gain" (rx_ctle_eq_gain) is invalid. Possible valid values are: "0".
Error: native_phy_ip.xcvr_native_s10_htile_0: The current value "16" for parameter "VGA DC Gain" (rx_vga_dc_gain) is invalid. Possible valid values are: "4".

Manual RX Analog Adaption mode erroneously enforces settings of: CTLE AC gain = 4, CTLE EQ gain = 0 and VGA = 4. Attempting to use alternate values may produce these errors.

 

Workaround/Fix

To work around this problem, you can use Adaptive CTLE, Adaptive VGA, DFE Off for the Native PHY IP RX Analog Adaption mode.

This problem is fixed in the Quartus Prime Pro Edition software version 19.1.
