Why the measured current strength in bank 3C of Intel® Stratix® 10 GX 400 and SX 400 devices is unable to meet the set level in Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • Generic Component
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Although the Intel® Stratix® 10 General Purpose I/O User Guide shows the supported current strength settings in bank 3C of Intel® Stratix® 10 GX 400 and SX 400 devices are 16mA, 12mA, 8mA, and 4mA, which are allowed in Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 20.2 and earlier. However, please expect the actual current strength from the output I/O buffer will follow the table below:

This problem is updated in the associated documentation to reflect the actual current strength.
Users are required to recompile the design with fixed Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software release.
