Notes:

  1. Starting with Intel® Quartus® Prime Software version 14.0, Intel® FPGA software only supports 64 bit versions of the OS listed in Table 1, unless specified. The 32-bit library files are required to run the software on Linux* 64-bit platforms.
  2. 32-bit Standalone Programmer is only supported in Intel Quartus Prime Standard Edition Software version 18.1 and prior only.
  3. Red Hat 5 support is dropped since Intel Quartus Prime Standard Edition Software version 18.0 onwards.
  4. Starting with Nios II EDS in Intel Quartus Prime Pro Edition Software version 19.2 and Intel Quartus Prime Standard Edition Software version 19.1, the Cygwin component in the Windows version of Nios II EDS has been removed and replaced with WSL. For installation instructions, refer to the Installing Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) on the Windows section in the Nios II software Developer Handbook. For machines installed with McAfee* Endpoint Security, the minimum requirement is Windows 10 version 1809 (OS build 17763). If you are using a network drive for the Nios II EDS, the minimum requirement is Windows 10 version 1903 (OS build 18362).
  5. The Intel Quartus Prime Standard and Pro Editions are no longer supported under Windows 7 and replaced with Window 10.  For Windows users, you will need to download and install the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) for Windows 10.
  6. DSP Builder for Intel FPGAs depends on MATLAB (DSPB is effectively a plugin for Matlab) so the true set of DSP Builder for Intel FPGAs supported OS is a restricted subset and refer users to the MathWorks* OS support webpage.
  7. As of Intel Quartus Prime Software version 20.3, the Intel SoC FPGA Embedded Development Suite (SoC EDS) is no longer available. The components that comprised the SoC EDS are now available only through GitHub. For details, see the Intel Download Center for FPGAs
