ISP CLAMP State Editor Window (Edit Menu)

You open this window by selecting an I/O Pin State File Definition (.ips) in the Programmer and clicking Edit > ISP CLAMP State Editor. If you open the ISP CLAMP State Editor using the ISP CLAMP State Editor command, the Select Device and Open IPS File buttons are unavailable.

Allows you to create I/O Pin State Files describing the ISP CLAMP state for device pins used at the start of programming or other optional action, such as verification. Some of the options described below may be available only when certain conditions are met. For example, you may need to select a certain programming mode.

Note: You can use I/O Pin State files only when you turn on ISP CLAMP. The IPS File list is in the Programming list.

ISP CLAMP State:

You can specify one of the following four pin-states for individual pins to assume at the start of programming or other optional action, such as verification:

  • Tri-state— At the start of programming, or other optional action, the pin is tri-stated. Tri-state is the default state for all pins.
  • High— At the start of programming, or other optional action, the pin is driven high.
  • Low— At the start of programming, or other optional action, the pin is driven low.
  • Sample and Sustain— The pin state is sampled prior to entering ISP, and that state is applied and maintained during the ISP operation.
