ID:23016 Total CPU time (on all processors): <number>

CAUSE: You started a Quartus Prime command-line executable. The Quartus Prime software is reporting the total CPU time from when the executable was started. Total CPU time differs from elapsed time by measuring only time actually spent in executing the Quartus Prime software and excludes time used by other processes and events such as I/O access stalls by the Quartus Prime software. Total CPU time is calculated by the operating system as user time plus kernel time. On a reasonably loaded system, total CPU time should be very close to elapsed time. On a heavily loaded system, the can differ greatly. If Parallel Compilation is enabled, total CPU time will contain the sum of CPU times for every CPU used by the Quartus Prime software. For Quartus Prime executables that take advantages of multiple CPUs, the total CPU time will be greater than elapsed time.
