ID:215032 The calculated junction temperature exceeds the maximum allowable temperature, using junction temperature of <number> degrees Celsius.

CAUSE: The calculated junction temperature exceeds the maximum allowable temperature specified for the device. There can be two main causes: inaccurate signal activities, or inappropriate operating conditions. Inaccurate signal activities can result from:
  • If the signal activities were generated from simulation, they could be inaccurate because the simulation vectors are inaccurate not representative of normal operating conditions.
  • If the signal activities were generated from simulation, they could be inaccurate because the simulator was not run with glitch filtering turned on.
  • The default toggle rate could be set too high.
  • Vectorless estimation can overpredict signal activities, especially for registers and pins. Vectorless estimation methodologies have inherent limitations.
Inappropriate operating conditions can be caused by:
  • Specifying an inadequate cooling solution.

ACTION: Use the Confidence Metric report and the Signal Activities report to determine if signal activities used during power estimation are reasonable. Specify a different cooling solution in the Temperature page.

CAUSE: You selected maximum device power characteristics.

ACTION: Select a different option for device power characteristics.
