Create JAM, JBC, SVF, or ISC File Dialog Box

You open this dialog box in the Programmer by clicking FileCreate JAM, JBC, SVF or ISC File. The dialog box is not available if there are no devices in the Programmer, or if the device chain contains an unknown device, multiple instances of the same device name, or one or more unsaved Programmer Object File (.pof) Definition.

Allows you to generate a Jam File (.jam) Definition, Jam Byte Code File (.jbc) Definition, Serial Vector Format File (.svf) Definition, or In System Configuration File (.isc) Definition for programming or configuring multiple ISP-compatible devices in a JTAG chain Definition, or for programming a single ISP-compatible device in In-Socket Programming mode Definition mode.

Scripting Information

Executable:quartus_jbcc.exe

You can generate a Jam Byte Code File at the command prompt with the quartus_jbcc.exe executable.

Operation:

Allows you to specify the operation of a Serial Vector Format File as either device programming or verification.

Programming options:

Allows you to specify the programming options as either Blank-check or Verify.

TCK frequency:

Allows you to specify the JTAG TCK clock frequency in units of MHz, KHz, or Hz. The maximum frequency allowed is family dependent.

For more information about JTAG TCK clock frequencies for Intel device families, see the device-specific chapter of the Configuration Handbook on the Altera website.

This option is available only if you selected Serial Vector Format in the File format list in this dialog box.

Supply voltage:

Allows you to specify the supply voltage of the target configuration device. If you select Serial Vector Formats (.svf) in the File Format list, you can set the supply voltage to 1.8 V, 3.3 V, or 5.0 V to match the voltage of the target environment. You must specify the same voltage for the configuration device as the voltage of the target environment to ensure successful programming. This option is available only if you selected Serial Vector Format (.svf) in the File format list in this dialog box.
