Create Signal Tap File from Design Instance(s) Command (File Menu)

You access this command by pointing to Create/Update on the File menu, and then clicking Create Signal Tap File from Design Instance(s). You can access this command only when you instantiate Signal Tap Logic Analyzer Intel® FPGA IP in your design.

Allows you to create a Signal Tap File (.stp) Definition from one or more Signal Tap Logic Analyzer Intel® FPGA IP instantiated in a compiled design. Each Intel® FPGA IP instance in the compiled design appears as an instance in the Signal Tap Logic Analyzer window. When you instantiate Intel® FPGA IP in a design, they appear in the order in which you instantiated them in the Signal Tap File.

You cannot make changes to Signal Tap Files you create with this command, except to change trigger conditions. A Signal Tap File created with this command cannot be used when you compile your design. To make changes to instances in a Signal Tap File that you created with this command, you must edit the Intel® FPGA IP in the design and then create another Signal Tap File.
