Cyclone 10 GX Device Definition

The Intel® Cyclone® 10 GX devices are of high-performance and power-efficient 20-nm low-cost FPGAs.

Intel® Cyclone® 10 GX devices deliver:

  • Higher performance than the previous generation of low-cost FPGAs.
  • Power efficiency attained through a comprehensive set of power-saving technologies.
  • 10 Gbps transceivers at as low as 168 mW
  • 6 Gbps transceivers at as low as 117 mW
  • 125 Mbps to 10.3125 Mpbs transceiver speeds for chip-to-chip and chip-to-module applications
Note: Data rates below 1 Gbps are achieved through over sampling.

The Intel® Cyclone® 10 GX devices are ideal for high performance, power-sensitive applications in diverse markets such as:

  • Machine vision
  • Robotics
  • Programmable logic controller and drivers
  • Infotainment
  • Medical
  • Military

Intel® Cyclone® 10 GX GX FPGA features 10.3125 Gbps transceivers for short reach applications with data rates for chip-to-chip and chip-to-module applications—from 125 Mbps up to 10.3125 Gbps according to application.

The combination of 20-nm process technology and architectural advances provide the following benefits:

  • Significant reduction in die area and power consumption.
  • Up to 12-channels of transceiver I/O density with higher signal-integrity conditioning capability than the previous generation of low-cost FPGA.
  • All channels feature continuous data rate support up to the maximum rated speed.

The Intel® Cyclone® 10 GX family device architecture supports:

  • Two RAM block types:
    • M20K memory blocks—dedicated memory blocks. M20K blocks are ideal for large memory arrays with a large number of independent ports.
    • MLABs—enhanced memory blocks, each configured from 10 ALMS. MLABs are ideal for wide and shallow memory arrays.
  • Support for remote configuration updates.
  • Embedded variable-precision DSP blocks that enable precision signal processing from 18x9 to 54x54, as well as floating point arithmetic with a wide variety of modes.
  • I/Os have dedicated circuitry to assist with the implementation of high-speed interfaces to external memory devices such as DDR3 and LPDDR3.
  • Adaptive Logic Modules (ALMs) provide enhanced 8-input ALM with four registers and hierarchical core clocking architecture.
Intel® Cyclone® 10 GX support the following PCI Express®(PCIe®) hard IP with complete protocol stack, endpoint, and root port:
  • PCI Express® Gen2 (x1, x2, or x4)
  • PCI Express® Gen1 (x1, x2, or x4)
Intel® Cyclone® 10 GX devices deliver the industry's lowest power consumption per transceiver channel:
  • 10 Gbps transceivers at as low as 168 mW
  • 6 Gbps transceivers at as low as 117 mW
