Target Device

Allows you to choose the specific Intel device for programming. The following options are available:

  • Auto device selected by the Fitter—Directs the Fitter to select, from the Available devices list, the device with the most appropriate density for the design.
  • Specific device selected in 'Available devices' list—Directs the Compiler to use the device you select in the Available devices list. If you choose this option, you can select a device in the Available devices list, and thenassign node names in the chip to pins on the selected deviceusing theAssignment Editor .Selecting a device in the Available devices list automatically selects the Specific device selected in 'Available devices' list option.
  • Other—This option is available for backward compatibility only.

When you select the Auto device selected by the Fitter or the Specific device selected in 'Available devices' list option for device families with companion devices, the list under Companion device shows which companion devices are available.
