Output file
- Write out signal activities used during power analysis—Directs the Power Analyzer to create a Signal Activity File (.saf) Definition, which records the toggle rates and static probabilities that occur during power analysis. If you select this option, you must specify a file name in the accompanying Output file name box.
Note:
You might want to turn on this option if you are using a large Value Change Dump File (.vcd) Definition produced by a third-party simulator. By recording signal activities to a .saf f ile during the initial running of the Power Analyzer, you can then use this .saf f ile as input to subsequent power analyses, thereby saving the time required to reread a large .vcd file.
- Output file name—Allows you to specify the path and name of the .saf file that records the toggle rates and static probabilities that occur during power analysis. If you do not specify a path, the resulting file is created in the project directory.
