Virtual JTAG Interface (VJI) Intel® FPGA IP

Provides access to the device through the JTAG interface. The Intel® Quartus® Prime software or JTAG control host identifies each instance of this Intel® FPGA IP by a unique index.

Each VJI instance functions in a flow that resembles the JTAG operation of a device. The logic that uses this interface must maintain the continuity of the JTAG chain on behalf the device when this instance becomes active. The sld_virtual_jtag Intel® FPGA IP is available for all Intel device families that the Intel® Quartus® Prime software supports.

Intel recommends instantiating this function with the IP Catalog.

Note:

When you create your Intel® FPGA IP, you can use the IP Catalog to generate a netlist for third-party synthesis tools.
