XML files Definition

An ASCII text file in the Extensible Markup Language format, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). XML is a markup language used to describe data, and enables the definition, transmission, validation, and interpretation of data between applications.

The Intel® Quartus® Prime software uses the XML format to describe data in the following file types:

  • Component Declaration File (.cmp)
  • Conversion Setup File (.cof)
  • Design Space Explorer Custom Space File (.dse)
  • IBIS model input files
  • JTAG Debugging Information File (.jdi)
  • PartMiner edaXML-Format File (.xml)
  • Pin Planner File (.ppf)
  • Signal Tap File (.stp)
  • Sources and Probes File (.spf)
  • XML Report Database File (.xml)
