SignalProbe Pins Dialog Box

You open this dialog box by clicking SignalProbe Pins on the Tools menu.

Allows you to add, delete, enable, and disable SignalProbe connections in the current design. After compiling the design you can specify SignalProbe sources, registers, and clocks. You must perform a full compilation to generate an internal netlist containing a list of nodes to probe to a SignalProbe pin. The SignalProbe pins dialog box lists the pins available for use as SignalProbe Definition pins for the device specified for the current design, as well as other information about the pins if available. For example, the SignalProbe pins dialog box may also display the node name for each pin, the SignalProbe source name, whether SignalProbe routing is enabled, the SignalProbe status for each pin, and I/O standards.

To add a SignalProbe pin click Add to open the Add Signal Probe Pin dialog box.

Once you have added SignalProbe pins you can turn them on to enable or turn them off to disable SignalProbe routing for pins specified in the SignalProbe pins list. You can also use the Enable All or Disable All buttons.

Keyword:signalprobe_enable

Settings:on | off

Note: The SignalProbe Pins dialog box is not available for advance support devices that do not have device pin-outs.

Click Start Check & Save All Netlist Changes to perform an engineering change order (ECO) fit on the design to save your netlist and create or update the ECO that creates the SignalProbe pin.

Important:
  • The SignalProbe pins list shows only specified SignalProbe pins, it does not show pins reserved for other purposes.
  • Performing a full compilation disables SignalProbe pins. To use SignalProbe pins after a full compilation, you must enable SignalProbe pins and then perform a SignalProbe compilation.
