SSN Analyzer Reports

Reports the results of the simultaneous switching noise analysis performed by the SSN Analyzer.

Settings Report:

Lists the following settings selected for the SSN Analyzer:

  • Option shows the compilation option selected.
  • Setting shows the setting for the selected compilation option.
  • Default Value shows the default value for the selected compilation option.

Summary Report:

Summarizes the following information about the analysis:

  • SSN Analyzer Status shows the status, end date, and end time of the analysis.
  • Quartus® Prime Standard Edition Version shows the current version of the Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software.
  • Revision Name shows the revision name specified in the Revisions dialog box.
  • Top-Level Entity Name shows the name of the top level entity.
  • Family shows the device family name specified in the Settings dialog box.
  • Device shows the device selected for the analysis you performed.
  • SSN Analyzer Confidence shows the level of confidence in the design determined by performing a simultaneous switching noise analysis, and the reason for that determination.

Output Pins SSN Voltage Noise Report:

Lists the following results of the SSN Analyzer analysis for output pins in the design:

  • Pin Name shows the pin name analyzed.
  • Location shows the pin location.
  • QH Noise (V) shows the value in volts of the simultaneous switching noise for a victim net driven to logic one (high).
  • QH % of Signal Margin shows the percentage of signal margin consumed by simultaneous switching noise for a victim net driven to logic one (high).
  • QL Noise (V) shows the value in volts of the simultaneous switching noise for a victim net driven to logic zero (low).
  • QL % of Signal Margin shows the percentage of signal margin consumed by simultaneous switching noise for a victim net driven to logic zero (low).

Input Pins SSN Voltage Noise Report:

Lists the following results of the SSN Analyzer analysis for input pins in the design:

  • Pin Name shows the pin name analyzed.
  • Location shows the pin location.
  • QH Noise (V) shows the value in volts of the simultaneous switching noise for a victim net driven to logic one (high).
  • QH % of Signal Margin shows the percentage of signal margin consumed by simultaneous switching noise for a victim net driven to logic one (high).
  • QL Noise (V) shows the value in volts of the simultaneous switching noise for a victim net driven to logic zero (low).
  • QL % of Signal Margin shows the percentage of signal margin consumed by simultaneous switching noise for a victim net driven to logic zero (low).

Unanalyzed Pins Report:

Lists the following results of the SSN Analyzer analysis for unanalyzed pins in the design:

  • Pin Name shows the name of the pin.
  • Location shows the location of the pin.
  • Message lists the reason the pin appears in this report.

Confidence Metric Details Report:

Lists the parameter values assumed by the SSN Analyzer because they were not explicitly defined in the design. Each pin with unassigned or default parameter values is listed with one or more unassigned parameters and the parameter value used by the SSN Analyzer. Possible unassigned parameters can include:

  • I/O standard
  • Current strength
  • Slew rate
  • Near end capacitance
  • Near end transmission line capacitance per length
  • Near end transmission line inductance per length
  • Near end transmission line length
  • Far end transmission line capacitance per length
  • Far end transmission line inductance per length
  • Far end transmission line length
  • Far end capacitance
  • Via signal layer

Messages Report:

Reports messages generated by the SSN Analyzer during the current compilation. The SSN Analyzer generates Info, Warning, and Error messages that report conditions observed during the SSN Analyzer process.

You can right-click a message in the SSN Analyzer Messages report and click Help to display help on the selected message, or click Locate to view a list of options available for the selected message.
