A group of Altera programmable logic devices (PLDs) with the same fundamental architecture. Altera's families include supported device(Cyclone IV, MAX II, MAX V, Stratix IV, and Stratix V) families. Altera also offers a serial configuration device family that includes devices used to configure the devices in supported device (Arria V, Cyclone IV, Cyclone V, Stratix IV, and Stratix V) families.
