Generating Secondary Programming Files

The Programmer allows you to edit Chain Description Files (.cdf), which store device name, device order, and optional programming file name information for a design. You can use a .cdf to program or configure a device with one or more SRAM Object Files (.sof), Programmer Object Files (.pof), or with a single Jam File (.jam) or Jam Byte-Code File (.jbc). You can also generate secondary programming files in various file formats, such as Jam Files, Jam Byte-Code Files, Serial Vector Format (.svf) Files, In System Configuration (.isc)Files, Raw Binary Files (.rbf), or Tabular Text Files (.ttf), for use by other systems, such as embedded processors. Additionally, you can convert SRAM Object Files or Programmer Object Files into other programming file formats, such as aProgrammer Object File for Remote Update (.pof), a Programmer Object File for Local Update (.pof), a Hexadecimal (Intel-Format) Output File (.hexout) for EPC16, a Hexadecimal (Intel-Format) Output File for SRAM, or a Raw Programming Data (.rpd) File.
