Combining Programming Files

Combining programming files provides you with versatility in how you program devices. You perform most of the process of combining programming files with the Convert Programming Files dialog box. By combining certain types of programming files you can use different configuration schemes, as well as different configuration devices and modes, when either converting output programming files or generating new files. For example, you can combine and convert SRAM Object Files (.sof) or Programmer Object Files (.pof) into other file formats, which then gives you the flexibility to use alternate configuration devices, remote updating features, or provide access to a remote host. Also, you can set up the priority for SRAM Object Files in a chain within the Programmer so that the data contained within the SRAM Object File can be preserved when generating or converting the file to other output programming file formats. Prioritizing SRAM Object Files in a chain helps when you want to maintain existing data, such as device and file names, device order, and device properties.
