Analyzing Data in the SignalTap II Logic Analyzer

After you acquire data for analysis with the SignalTap II Logic Analyzer, you can view the data in the Data tab. The Waveform Display pane allows you to edit waveform views of the data. You can insert time bars, further edit the properties of nodes, edit buses and bus values, and print waveforms. You can find changing values in currently selected nodes, as well as export waveform data in other industry-standard formats to use with other EDA tools.

The data acquired by the SignalTap II Logic Analyzer is stored in the internal memory on the device and then streamed to the waveform view via the JTAG port. You can view a history of the data, as well as view the data organized in a hierarchical structure that is grouped according to trigger sets.

Note: Before working with the SignalTap II Logic Analyzer, you must perform Analysis & Synthesis and Analysis & Elaboration on the design, compile the design, create a SignalTap II File, and open the SignalTap II Logic Analyzer window.
