Block Design Naming logic option

A logic option that specifies the naming scheme used for design entities.

You can select one of the following settings:

Auto

Directs the Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software to use the naming scheme defined in the source files.

MAX+PLUSII

Directs the Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software to use the naming scheme for design entities used in the Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software versions 7.2 and earlier.

Quartus® Prime Standard Edition

Directs the Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software to use the naming scheme for design entities used in the Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software versions 7.2 and later.

When a bus is split, the resulted pins are named with base name followed by square brackets, with indices between the bracket pair

This option is useful if your design contains design files generated by the Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software version 7.2 or earlier. You can use this option to specify which naming scheme you want the Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software to use on a specified design entity or the entire design.

You can use this option as a project-wide option, or assign it to a design entity. This option is available for all Altera devices.
