Report Fmax Summary Command

You generate this report by double-clicking Report Fmax Summary in the Tasks pane in the TimeQuest Timing Analyzer.

Generates the Fmax Summary report that displays fmax Definition for every clock in the design, regardless of any clock periods you specified. This report only displays fMAX for paths where the same clock drives the source and destination registers or ports. For paths between a clock and its inversion, this report computes fMAX as if the rising and falling edges are scaled along with fMAX, such that the duty cycle (in terms of a percentage) is maintained. This report displays both restricted and unrestricted fMAX, and accounts for multicycle and minimum and maximum delay exceptions. For minimum and maximum delay exceptions, the TimeQuest analyzer computers fMAX as if the minimum and maximum delay values scale as a percentage of the clock period.

Note: This report is intended for benchmarking purposes only. Altera recommends that you always use clock constraints and TimeQuest analyzer slack reports for sign-off analysis.
