Archiving Projects

You can save a complete Quartus II project as a single, compressed for portability and later use. You can subsequently add or remove specific files from a project archive.

If you have not already done so, perform Analysis & Elaboration or fully compile the design.

Note: Performing analysis or compilation on a project before archiving it enables the Quartus II software to automatically locate the design, source, and ancillary files associated with the project.

On the Project menu, click Archive Project.
In the Archive file name list, specify the Quartus II Archive File name.
If you want to customize the list of files for archiving, follow these steps:
1. Click Advanced.
2. Choose from File set, File subset, or Add and Remove to customize the list of files you want to archive.
3. Click OK.
Click Archive.

On the Project menu, click Restore Archived Project.
In the Archive name box, specify the path and file name of the Quartus II Archive File you wish to restore.
In the Destination folder box, specify the location to which you wish to restore the archived project.
Click Show log to view the Quartus II Archive Log File (.qarlog) for the project you are restoring.
Click OK.
If necessary, compile the project.
