Customize Filter Dialog Box

Allows you to specify and save the search criteria for a node name search. You can create and save a new custom filter by specifying options in this dialog box, or you can select one of the Altera-provided or custom filters from the Filter list.

Specifies the current Altera-provided or user-defined filter. The Quartus II software includes the following non-editable, default filters. You can use these filters to perform a node name search, or you can create a new filter using any of the Altera-provided filters settings as the initial settings.

Pins: input— Finds all input pin names in your design file(s).
Pins: output— Finds all output pin names in your design file(s).
Pins: bidirectional— Finds all bidirectional pin names in your design file(s).
Pins: all— Finds all pin names in your design file(s).
Pins: virtual— Finds all virtual pin names.
Registers: pre-synthesis— Finds all user-entered register names contained in the design after design elaboration, but before physical synthesis does any synthesis optimizations.
Registers: post-fitting— Finds all user-entered register names in your design file(s) that survived physical synthesis and fitting.
Design Entry (all names)— Finds all user-entered names in your design file(s).
Post-Compilation— Finds all user-entered and compiler-generated names that do not have location assignments and survived fitting.
SignalTap II: pre-synthesis— Finds all internal device nodes in the pre-synthesis netlist that can be analyzed by the SignalTap II Logic Analyzer.
SignalTap II: post-fitting— Finds all internal device nodes in the post-fitting netlist that can be analyzed by the SignalTap II Logic Analyzer.
SignalProbe— Finds all SignalProbe device nodes in the post-fitting netlist.

Specifies which view of the node name database will be searched. The following two mutually exclusive options are available:

Current assignments— Searches the node name database for any node names that have assignments, as well as any names that have been back-annotated.
Last compilation— Searches the node name database for all the node names with assignments you entered prior to compilation, plus any Compiler-added assignments.

Specifies the netlist to include in a node name search. The following options are available:

Pre-synthesis— Specifies that only node names contained in the pre-synthesis netlist are found. The pre-synthesis netlist is created after design elaboration, but before any synthesis optimizations done by physical synthesis.
Show only SignalTap II Names— Specifies that only internal device nodes that can be analyzed by the SignalTap II Logic Analyzer are found.
Post-synthesis— Specifies that only node names contained in the post-synthesis netlist are found.
Post-fitting— Specifies that only node names contained in the post-fitting netlist are found. The post-fitting netlist is created after physical synthesis optimizations and fitting.
Show only SignalTap II and SignalProbe Names— Specifies that only nodes that can be analyzed by the SignalTap II Logic Analyzer or have been designated as a SignalProbe source are found.
