This version of Quartus II software will no longer be available after 6/26/2020. This version does not include the latest functional and security updates and will not be supported. All versions are provided as is. Intel recommends that users of this version uninstall and discontinue use as soon as possible. Users should upgrade to the latest available software version for their device and follow the technical recommendations to help improve security.

Red Hat Linux Enterprise 3 and 4 (32-bit & 64-bit)
To use the Nios II Embedded Design Suite, you must first install both the Quartus II software and the MegaCore IP Library.
Recommended UNIX and Linux Download and Installation Instructions:
Download the desired components. The Altera Installer, Quartus II software, and Quartus II Device Information are required. Other components (Nios II, IP, and ModelSim) are optional.
Arrange all the downloaded files together in one directory. For install setup, ensure there is sufficient free disk space (approximately 4 Gbytes) to contain copies of the uncompressed versions of these files. An additional 5 Gbytes of disk space is required for software installation.
Extract the Altera UNIX/Linux download installer using the following command:
Execute the script 'install_download’ which now resides in the current directory.
Select the appropriate options in the installation script to install the software.

Solaris 8 and 9 (32-bit & 64-bit)
To download and uncompress all files (Quartus II, MegaCore IP Library, Nios II, and ModelSim) requires 4 Gbytes of free disk space. Installation requires an additional 5 Gbytes of disk space. You can delete the 4 Gbytes of download and uncompressed files from your hard drive after installation is complete.
