Design Registration: Creating a Design Registration
Creating a New Design Registration Header
New Design Registrations are created from the Design Registration tab in the Intel Partner Portal.
From the Design Registrations tab, you can create a Design Registration by clicking the New button at the top right.
The New Design Registration window will open. There are three different sections that the partner will need to fill out:
- Project Information & Status
- End Customer Information
- Opportunity Information
Important—All fields with red asterisks are required.
- The Product Group field determines which group the Design Registration is routed to. It is important to select the correct Product Group as selecting an incorrect group will cause a delay in processing.
- Note: For Design Registrations belonging to Embedded/IOT product groups for the ASMO or EMEA regions, a pre-check for the submitted Design Registration will be required before the approval process can start. Pre-checks are completed by your Intel Representative.
- The Description field can be used to provide a description of the Design Registration as well as business justification for the design.
- The Partner FAE is your technical owner, responsible for supporting the end customer’s design.
- The Partner FSR is an optional field for your Field Sales Representative, if applicable.
- The End Customer Section refers to the customer with whom you are designing the solution.
- The Military, Intelligence, Nuclear/biochemical, Defense, or Space (MINDS) use is a mandatory field. Select the response that indicates how Intel items are used in this Design Registration opportunity.
- The Decision Date should represent the forecasted date when the customer will decide on moving forward with designing an Intel product.
- The First Customer Ship Date is the estimated date when the customer will have production units available and shippable from their manufacturing site.
- The Production End Date is the estimated date when the customer will end manufacturing of their product. Additional orders aren’t expected to be placed with Intel past this date.
- The Intel Platform field identifies the Intel® Platform that is being sold on the Opportunity.
- The Product Segment field identifies Intel’s categorization of the product segment for the design.
- The Product Application field is dependent upon your Product Segment selection.
- The Vertical Market field indicates the end market where the product will be used.
- Click Save once all fields have been filled out. If you would like to save and create a new Design Registration header, click Save & New.
Newly Created Design Registration Header
Once you successfully create the header of a Design Registration, there are important fields that you need to verify:
- Registration Number: The registration number for a partner design is located at the top of the page and populated in the Registration Number field.
- Your information: Populated in the System Information section.
Now that you’ve created the header for your new Design Registration, you can add products to it.
Add Products to Your Design Registration
Products can be added to a Design Registration from the Related Records tab in the Partner Portal.
To do this, click the New button in the Design Registration Products section on the Related Records tab.
Use the Product field in the New Design Registration Product window to search for the product to add to your design. Begin typing the name of the product to add to pull up a list of potential products. If the product you are searching for doesn’t appear, click the magnifying glass for a comprehensive list.
Add the desired quantity of the selected product and the target resale price to complete the required fields. The Target Resale Price would reflect the per unit target resale price. The Partner Tracking Number field allows you to input an internal tracking number, if you choose to do so.
Once you have filled out all fields, click Save to add the product to the Design Registration. You may add additional products by clicking Save & New and repeating the above steps.
