56G PAM4 serial-deserializers (SerDes) are a critical component to meeting the bandwidth needs of modern high performance ASICs. This interconnect IP is now ready, fully silicon proven, as the 56Gbps PAM4 SerDes. Representing the cutting edge of interconnect technology, this IP is expected to more than double performance and support the full range of SerDes applications, including copper backplanes. 

The Data Must Flow

As the amount of data transfer in the world soars, it places increasing significance on the ability to transfer larger data blocks in either the same or less physical space. Additionally, as data links near full time utilization, the need for energy efficient operations is paramount. By 2020, just four years from now, we expect to see 50 billion connected devices1 generating more than two zettabytes of data traffic annually2. That dramatic growth means increasing demands on network infrastructure.

More Than Double the Link Bandwidth

By increasing SerDes bandwidth to 56G, transferring data will require less power, space, and cables in networking applications. This SerDes provides PAM4 data rates from 20 Gbps to 56 Gbps. It is provides fully compatibility with other devices in data centers, supporting NRZ data rates from 1 Gbps to 32 Gbps.
