Inspect, Map, and Model a Cathedral using a Safer, Faster Method

Intel® Drone Services and Solutions inspect and build a 3d digital twin of the city Church St. Katharina in Hirschberg, Germany to aid in conservation efforts. The Intel® Falcon™ 8+ drone combined with Intel® Mission Control Software is able to execute automated aerial missions utilizing the city grid, façade, and tower functions. The automated data capture takes 1 hour versus traditional manual inspections requiring scaffolding, placing workers at greater risk, and needing days to weeks to perform the inspection. Intel® Insight Platform creates a detailed, accurate digital twin for use in conservation, maintenance, and repair.

Aerial Inspection and 3D Modeling for the Preservation of a South Korean UNESCO World Heritage Site

Intel drone technology aids in the effort to preserve architectural structures of cultural and historic significance such as the Hwahongmun Gate of South Korea’s Suwon Hwaseong fortress. Intel® Mission Control Software, coupled with the Intel® Falcon™ 8+ drone was used to inspect, survey, and construct a detailed digital 3D model of the Suwon Hwahongmun Gate.
