Reverse Time Migration (RTM) is a preferred solution for modeling and imaging seismic data in areas of complex wave phenomena. It is a two-way wave equation depth migration, yielding high-resolution depth images of the subsurface, critical to seismic processing workflow of oil and gas reservoir prediction
The rtm2d application from is a simple but full implementation of RTM. This is the first DPC++ instance and includes a mix of implementations related to both geophysical questions (boundaries), numerical schemes (stencil length, wave equation order) and snapshots/I/O management with or without compression.
Unlike past reference implementations this application is computationally intensive on all fronts (stressing compute, memory bandwidth, I/O and communication interconnect).
