After 18 years, the Embedded System Design Contest (ESDC) is now one of China's most high-profile collegiate STEM contests†. In this invitation-only contest, undergraduate students worldwide compete to create innovative designs and to cultivate innovation, team work, and engineering practice. Projects are based on the latest generation of Intel® embedded hardware and software tools. From 2002 to 2018, this high profile biannual contest has been directly attended by3000+ students from almost 100 universities WW, and benefited tens of thousands faculty and students.
Contest Winners
2018 ESDC for the 1st time set a topic: AI and IOT. ESDC is now the only AI contest with both HW & SW in PRC.
2018 ESDC Final is directly participated by 164 teams from 77 universities of 6 countries/Regions (Mainland, HK, US, Singapore, India, Brazil).
First prize:13 teams, Second prize: 26 teams, Third prize: 59 teams
Contest Requirements
Development of contest projects must be based on the following hardware:
- UP Squared* Grove* IoT Development Kit (required)
- Cyclone® V FPGA customized for the UP Squared* board (optional)
- Intel® Movidius™ Neural Compute Stick (optional)
