Christoph joined the Graphics Research team at Intel as research scientist in 2022. His work focuses on real-time rendering and mathematical methods enabling it. Previously, he was a post-doctorate student at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, a research intern at NVIDIA*, and a researcher at University of Bonn. He earned a PhD in computer graphics and a master of science in computer science from University of Bonn after earning a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from University of Cologne. Much of his work revolves around the theory of moments, which has led to state-of-the-art solutions for shadow mapping, order-independent transparency, spectral rendering, transient imaging, and more. Another focus is importance sampling of analytically defined light sources for real-time path tracing.
