Tobias Zirr joined Intel as a research scientist in 2021. His current research interests include building a deeper understanding of robust Monte Carlo rendering algorithms, new adaptations for real-time rendering, and working on the interface between classic and neural rendering techniques. He received his master’s degree in computer science from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology where he was also a PhD student in the Computer Graphics Group researching Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) rendering, real-time rendering, and interactive visualization techniques. Previously, he worked as a contractor developing shader creation tools for product visualization, and occasionally dabbled in demoscene productions.
