The following table provides a brief description of each preset.

Usage Notes
Dedicated cache for one real-time workload, no software SRAM, shared cache for best-effort workloads on CPU + GPU, and dedicated cache for I/O use.
Enables one real-time workload to run on the system by minimizing interference from GPU and I/O noisy neighbors. For this preset, disable the Software SRAM Setting.
Dedicated cache for one real-time workload, 1 x L3 software SRAM, shared cache for best-effort workloads on CPU + GPU, and dedicated cache for I/O use.
Similar to Preset 1, but adds software SRAM in L3 cache. A good starting point for developers looking to experiment with Software SRAM.
Dedicated cache for two real-time workloads, 1 x L3 software SRAM, shared cache for best-effort workloads on CPU + GPU, and dedicated cache for I/O use.
Similar to Preset 2, but adds cache partitioning to support two independent real-time workloads.
Dedicated cache for two real-time workloads, 1 x L3 software SRAM, 2 x L2 software SRAMs (Core 2 and Core 3), shared cache for best-effort workloads on CPU + GPU, and dedicated cache for I/O use.
Similar to Preset 3, but adds L2 software SRAM. Useful for real-time workloads that have access latency requirements beyond what L3 cache can provide.
Dedicated cache for two real-time workloads, 1 x L3 software SRAM, 2 x L2 software SRAMs (Core 2 and Core 3), shared cache for best-effort workloads on CPU, dedicated but minimal cache for GPU, and dedicated cache for I/O use.
Similar to Preset 4, but with a smaller dedicated cache region for GPU.
If you followed the Get Started Guide for UEFI BIOS (Public Document) or the Get Started Guide for Slim Bootloader (Public Document), as part of the process Preset 4 was configured as the default. Otherwise, run Cache Configurator to see what is the current cache partition. See Setup Software SRAM Script for information about the default presets for all supported processors.

Preset 1
This preset configures L3 cache only.
This preset allows non-real-time (best-effort) workloads running on the CPU and GPU to share cache ways 11:2. Cache way 1 is dedicated for use by one real-time application. Cache way 0 is for I/O use.

Preset 3
The only difference between Presets 2 and 3 is that cache way 2 is dedicated for use by a second real-time workload.

Preset 4
This preset configures L2 cache and L3 cache.
In L3 cache, cache way 11 is software SRAM. Cache ways 10:3 are shared among non-real-time (best-effort) workloads running on the CPU and for GPU. Cache way 2 is reserved for one real-time workload. Cache way 1 is reserved for a second real-time workload. Cache way 0 is reserved for I/O use.
In L2 cache, cache ways 19:16 are software SRAM. The rest of the cache is for best-effort workloads.

The difference between Presets 4 and 5 is that L3 cache way 1 is dedicated to the GPU.
