Troubleshooting
This topic covers troubleshooting for the cache configurator.
Problem | Possible Cause / Solution |

Hypervisor detected | Cause: A hypervisor or real-time configuration manager (RTCM) is enabled on the target system. Solution: Reboot the system without the hypervisor. Disable RTCM per the instructions in Real-Time Configuration Manager (RTCM). |
tcc_buffer driver is not loaded | Cause: The real-time configuration driver ( tcc_buffer ) is not loaded on the target system.Solution: Load the driver per the instructions in Real-Time Configuration Driver. |
Cache configurator capsule_apply_command or efibootmgr fails with the error: “No space left on device” | Cause: EFI NVRAM contains too many error logs. Solution: Delete the logs:

RTCT version <version> is not supported | Cause: BIOS reported that RTCT (real-time configuration table) version is not supported by cache configurator. Solution: Flash a BIOS supported by Intel® TCC Tools or contact your BIOS vendor. |
RTCD version <version> is not supported | Cause: BIOS reported that RTCD (real-time configuration data) version is not supported by cache configurator. Solution: Flash a BIOS supported by Intel® TCC Tools or contact your BIOS vendor. |
The configuration could not be applied as requested. The software SRAM buffers you requested are missing. | Cause: The Software SRAM option is disabled. Solution: Set the Software SRAM option to enabled to configure and use the software SRAM buffers. For more information, see Software SRAM Setting. |
The configuration could not be applied as requested. You wanted to delete all software SRAM buffers, but the default 1 x L3 software SRAM buffer (1 cache way) was applied. | Cause: The Software SRAM option is enabled. Solution: Set the Software SRAM option to disabled if you do not need any software SRAM buffers in the system. For more information, see Software SRAM Setting. |
The configuration could not be applied as requested. You wanted to add L2 software SRAM buffers, buffers were added, but the cache configurator reports an error. | Cause: For systems running the PR1 release of the Yocto Project*-based BSP for Intel Atom® x6000E Series processors, some L2 COS masks could not be applied. This issue does not affect performance and can be ignored. |
