Changing Preferences

 
You can find preferences for Intel® Software Manager under the 
Settings
 tab.
Configuring the frequency of checks
Intel® Software Manager checks for Updates, Licenses, and Product News for installed Intel® Software Development Products. Frequency can be set to:
  • Manual launch only:
     Intel Software Manager will only check when prompted by the user.
  • Check with Intel tools:
     Intel Software Manager will check when other Intel® Software Development Products run (default).
  • Automatically with time frequency:
     (Linux* OS and macOS*) Intel Software Manager will check for updates automatically, with options for daily, weekly, or monthly checks.
  • Run at system startup:
     (Windows* OS) Intel Software Manager will check when the system boots, with options for daily, weekly, or monthly checks.
Configuring the download location of Updates
Intel® Software Manager downloads updates to a default location unless another location is specified. To change the location for downloads, you can manually enter the path to the download folder or browse for the folder. The default download location is:
  • Windows* OS:
    C:\Users\<username>\Download\Intel
  • Linux* OS:
    • Root (
      sudo
      ) users:
      /root/intel/download
    • Non-root users:
      ${HOME}/intel/download
  • macOS*:
    • Root (
      sudo
      ) users:
      /root/intel/download
    • Non-root users:
      ${HOME}/intel/download
Configuring pop-up notifications
Pop-up notifications show you license or update status changes in Intel® Software Manager. Select the check box to disable pop-up notifications.
Configuring privacy settings
To help improve Intel® Software Development Products, you can choose to allow Intel to gather information about your system.

Configuring proxy settings
If you are behind a proxy, configure the proxy settings in preferences. System proxy settings are used by default.
