Choose Debuggers
When you run an analysis configured for interactive debugging, the
Intel Inspector
halts application execution and, depending on how the analysis was started,
launches a debugging session immediately or when a problem is detected.
The interactive debugging feature supports both the Intel® Debugger
(graphical and command line interface) and the GNU gdb* debugger (default).
Other debuggers that support the gdb remote interface may also work.
If a supported debugger is not in the system search
path, use the
Other supported debugger
option to specify an
alternative location. You can also use this option to specify an alternative
debugger.
If you choose to start a debugger and connect to the
debugging session manually, the analysis pauses while waiting for the debugger
connection and displays a message in the
Collection Log
window or terminal where the analysis
was launched. Connect using the
target remote
command displayed in the message. You must
terminate the analysis if the connection cannot be established.
To choose a debugger:
- Choose.
- In theOptionsdialog box, choose theDebuggerpage.
- Select the appropriate radio button.
