User Interface Introduction

After logging in, you will get to the
Intel® Edge Software Configurator
Home screen. This first screen provides an overview of the software configuration and system performance for the host machine, as well as shortcuts to relevant actions, and access to all tool features through the menu.

Tool Navigation

Use the top menu to navigate to different sections:

. In any screen, select
Edge Software Configurator
to go back to the
Intel® Edge Software Configurator
Home screen.
Find the
icon in the top right corner. You can view network configuration details here.
At present, the network configuration details cannot be modified. If changes need to be made, you must uninstall and reinstall Intel ® Edge Software Configurator.
To view notifications, click on the
icon, right next to the
Click on
View all notifications
to see all notifications. Click on
Intel® Edge Software Configurator
to exit from the notification page and return to the Home screen.
You will also find the
menu with links to this document and to the Support Forum, and a
button on the right corner that ends a user session.

Home Dashboard

Edge Software Configurator Home
dashboard displays cards with information about the host machine: the Edge Software Package installed, Containers and Virtual Machines running, and System Performance.
The cards can be collapsed and reordered to show the information that is most relevant at each stage of the development journey.
Each card also includes shortcuts to actions, such as configuring the Edge Software Package, and adding Containers and Virtual Machines.
System Performance
card shows key performance indicators for the host machine in real time. You may encounter blank metrics for few seconds due to processing of data. In the screen below, you can see CPU Performance.
Click on the
tab to view the memory utilization. Similarly, you can click on respective tabs to view their details.
System Details
card shows OS and hardware details such as OS type, kernel version, processor type, memory etc.
Containers and Virtual Machines
cards also show statistics for all Containers and Virtual Machines running or powered on. If you'd like to see statistics for a given Container or Virtual Machine, select its name on the list. To go back to seeing all of them, select the same item again.
When there are no Virtual Machines in the development machine, the card will display a message and shortcut to
Add Virtual Machine

System Performance data not loading in Home screen
If the system performance data is not getting displayed on the ESC UI, restart the
container by entering the command below on the target device.
sudo docker restart esm-collectd
Make sure that system is set with the correct date and time for visualizing the telemetry data on the ESC UI.
