Create Chromium* OS Virtual Machine

Step 1: Go to Configure > Virtual Machines

  1. Click on
    Configure
    in the top menu and select
    Virtual Machines
    .
  2. In the
    Virtual Machines
    screen, click on the
    Images
    tab.
  3. Click on
    Add Install Media
    to create Local Install Media.
  4. Upload Chromium OS bin file (
    cloudready-free-94.4.4-64bit.bin
    ).
  5. Later, create new VM template and select the Chromium OS bin file that you created in the previous step. Follow the steps mentioned in the Add Virtual Machine Templates section to create a new VM template.

Step 2: Add Virtual Machine

  1. In the
    Virtual Machines
    screen under the
    VM Instances
    tab, click on
    Add Virtual Machine
    . Follow the steps in Create Virtual Machine with Existing Template to create a new Virtual Machine. Remember to select the previously created VM template when creating the Virtual Machine.
  2. Once the Virtual machine is in
    Created
    state, click on
    Actions
    and select
    Access Virtual Machine
    .
  3. After selecting
    Access Virtual Machine
    , the Chromium OS page will be up for completing installation.
    Click on the time icon at the right corner of the page.
  4. Click on
    Install OS
    option.
  5. Click on
    INSTALL CLOUDREADY
    button.
  6. Click on
    ERASE HARD DRIVE & INSTALL CLOUDREADY
    .
  7. Once installation is completed, VM will automatically shut down.
  8. Click on
    Configure
    in the top menu and select
    Virtual Machines
    . In the
    VM instances
    page click on message icon next to the VM name.
  9. Click on
    Confirm OS installation
    button, so that VM status will be updated as Powered ON.
