Redeploy Edge Nodes

Step 1: Go to Deploy > Deploy Edge Nodes

  1. Click on
    Deploy
    in the top menu and select
    Deploy Edge Nodes
    .
  2. In the
    Deploy Edge Nodes
    screen, you will see 3 tab sections:
    Workload Templates
    ,
    Ongoing Deployment
    , and
    Completed Deployment
    .
    Workload Templates:
    contains a shortcut to add a new workload deployment template. If workload templates are already configured, then you will see the list of workload templates to deploy on edge nodes along with the shortcut to add a new template.
    Ongoing Deployment:
    lists the deployment ongoing edge nodes with details like IP address, deployment status, deployment started time, and track deployment. If there are no edge nodes in ongoing deployment, this tab will display an empty screen with message as shown.
    Completed Deployment:
    lists the deployment completed edge nodes with details like IP address, deployment status, deployment completed time, and deployment summary. If there are no edge nodes in completed deployment, this tab will display an empty screen with message as shown.

Step 2: Redeploy Edge Nodes

Follow the steps in the Add Workload Template section, if it is empty.
  1. In the
    Workload Template
    tab, select the
    Deploy
    button of any workload template to deploy it on an edge node.
    You will see a list of edge nodes for deploying the selected configuration.
  2. You also have the option to view the selected workload template by toggling
    Show Selected Workload Template
    as shown.
  3. Click on
    View Details
    to view the workload template details.
    Here you can check all the details by navigating through all the tabs. Click on
    Close
    to exit from the pop-up.
  4. You can view the edge node details by clicking the respective edge node name.
  5. Click on
    Close
    to exit from the pop-up.
  6. You can also compare the workloads by clicking on the
    View Details
    under the
    Compare Workloads
    column.
    Navigate through all the tabs to view the comparison in detail. Click on
    Close
    to exit from the pop-up.
    View Details
    under
    Compare Configuration
    is available only for the nodes that are already deployed.
  7. Select the edge nodes which have previous status as deployment success.
  8. If the selected workload template has virtual machines configured, then enter its credentials to deploy it on selected edge nodes.
  9. Click on
    Start Deployment
    .
  10. Click on
    Proceed
    to confirm deployment with new workload template.
  11. Click on
    Close
    to continue the deployment in the background and you will be able to see the progress under the
    Ongoing Deployment
    tab.
  12. You can view any edge node details and performance under
    Ongoing Deployment
    by clicking in the respective edge node name. Click on
    Close
    to exit from the pop-up.
  13. Click on
    View Summary
    under the track deployment column to track the status of ongoing deployment edge nodes. Navigate through all tabs to view in detail. Click on
    Close
    to exit from the pop-up.
    Once deployment is completed, you can see the edge node on the
    Completed Deployment
    tab with its status as
    Successful
    ,
    Partially Deployed
    or
    Failed
    .
