Known Issues

  • The installation is halted due to dpkg locks / error 1.
Workaround: Reboot the target machine or force stop the process holding the dpkg lock.
  • On Ubuntu* 20.04 LTS target machine
    hddldaemon
    initialization fails inside the container
    OpenVINO™
image openvino/ubuntu20_runtime:2021.4 while running the sample demos on HDDL accelerator.
  • On CentOS* target machine, if
    hddldaemon
failed to start the service, perform the steps below:
    • Reboot the target machine.
    • Execute the following commands:
      source /opt/intel/openvino/bin/setupvars.sh cd $HDDL_INSTALL_DIR ./install_IVAD_VPU_dependencies.sh cd ./bin ./hddldaemon
  • Windows OS - Installation may fail if the same target system is used to run the installer by logging in with different users.
  • Windows OS -
    OpenVINO™
Python* demos/samples are not working. These fail with Python version 3.8.3. This will be fixed in a future release.
  • Windows OS - If Docker desktop opens in the foreground while installation through edgesoftware, then please minimize the Docker desktop.
  • Windows OS - Installation of Docker CE dependent components (Docker Compose, EdgeX, and
    OpenVINO™
) in a container may fail while switching between open network and proxy enabled networks.
