Mapping a pandemic with technology
Creating tech for good helped create COVID protocols in Costa Rica
Commitment to positive global impact
Intel is committed to creating technology for good. In Costa Rica, engineers used Intel technology to construct mathematical models that summarized the COVID data and helped shape the country's policies. With the help of dedicated engineers inventing innovative solutions for complex challenges, Intel tech enriches the life of every person on earth.
At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in Costa Rica, Intel Engineer Luis Rojas Muñoz wondered how Intel could help. After finding colleagues to assist him, he approached Intel Government Affairs Director, Timothy Scott Hall. Luis and the volunteers created a dashboard that helped Costa Rican officials make life-saving decisions about reopening based on hospital capacity.
