Discrete GPUs for Broadcast and Streaming
Today, video makes up over 80% of global Internet traffic1, and viewers expect broadcast quality with higher resolutions across a growing variety of devices. At the same time, new 5G networks are dramatically increasing the throughput for mobile customers.
All of this means that media providers must find new ways to optimize total cost of ownership while meeting subscriber demands for more sophisticated content. The Intel® Data Center GPU Flex Series helps by increasing the density of streams that can be supported per server—without compromising quality. The Intel® Data Center GPU Flex Series is the ideal solution for Live and Over the Top video streaming with optimized software stack for low latency streaming services. Intel® Server GPU with support for MPEG2 and AVC interlaced support makes it the ideal solution for linear broadcast market.
Intel® Data Center GPU Flex Series
Intel® Data Center GPU Flex Series is flexible, robust, and the industry's most open GPU solution for the intelligent visual cloud. The GPU supports an open, standards-based software stack optimized for density and quality with critical server capabilities for high reliability and scalability in media processing, media delivery, AI visual inference, cloud gaming, and virtualization. Intel® Data Center GPU Flex 140 is a 75W low profile card with 16 Intel Xe cores and four Intel Xe Media Engines. Intel® Data Center GPU Flex 170 is a 150W FL ¾ H card with 32 Intel Xe cores and two Intel Xe Media Engines.
Intel® Server GPU
First generation Intel® Server GPU series was launched in Q4 2020 and is available in 65W and 150W variants. The Intel Server GPU supports accelerated AVC, HEVC, MPEG2, VP9 encode/decode, and AV1 decode. MPEG2 and AVC interlaced encoding enable the ideal solution for high density linear broadcast transcoding.
