Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA)

Intel began iWARP RDMA support with the Intel® C62x Series Chipset with integrated Intel® Ethernet Connection X722 with up to 4x10GbE. The Intel® Ethernet 800 Series expands support to both iWARP and RoCEv2 RDMA—selectable via software per port—for low-latency, high-throughput workloads.

Solutions like iSER, NVMe* over Fabrics, and SMB Direct are ready to use with Intel® Ethernet 800 Series products.

Dynamic Device Personalization (DDP)

Dynamic Device Personalization (DDP), when combined with Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK), reduces latency and improves packet processing performance and efficiency for cloud, communication, and network edge workloads. Intel® Ethernet 700 Series with DDP was introduced with a few protocols supported by default and now supports additional protocols including GENEVE and VXLAN-GPE.

The Intel® Ethernet 800 Series further enhanced DDP with a fully programmable pipeline, which supports an increased number of protocols that can be loaded at driver initialization for greater flexibility.
