Description
In MAX II devices, the internal oscillator is enabled during SRAM configuration from the Configuration Flash Memory (CFM) and is disabled once the MAX II device enters user mode. It will be enabled in user mode if you are instantiating the oscillator in your design as described in AN496: Using the Internal Oscillator in MAX II CPLDs (PDF).
