Clearwire
The Future of Mobile WiMAX: Turning Clearwire's "Life Unwired" vision into reality
Wireless communications and broadband Internet services are two of the more transformative technologies of our time. There are approximately 230 million wireless and more than 100 million broadband subscribers in the U.S. alone—domestic revenues in these two sectors exceed $180 billion annually.
The rapid growth and adoption of these services illustrate a powerful and undeniable fact—customers want both a true broadband experience and mobility when it comes to their communications services.
Until now, they have had to settle for one or the other. Clearwire is striving to change that by building one of the fastest and most capable wireless broadband networks ever conceived. The innovation behind this network puts it in a league of its own and enables a cost structure that radically changes the economics associated with the delivery of wireless data, voice and video.
Clearwire believes that mobile WiMAX will change the way that people use the Internet, similar to the way that mobile phones changed the telephone industry. Clearwire's vision is to transform the way that people make use of the full capabilities of the Internet, by delivering a robust, rich and consistent Internet experience on a mobile basis to devices of all shapes and sizes. The company is delivering a personal, mobile "true broadband" experience that moves with each customer, allowing people the freedom and mobility to live a "life unwired" with their personal Internet connection available anytime and anyplace, rather than being tied to a specific location.
About Clearwire
Clearwire, founded in October 2003 by wireless pioneer Craig O. McCaw, is a provider of simple, fast, portable and reliable wireless high-speed Internet service. Clearwire customers connect to the Internet using licensed spectrum, thus eliminating the confines of traditional cable or phone lines. Headquartered in Kirkland, Wash., the company launched its first market in August 2004 and now offers service in 50 markets across the U.S. as well as in Europe.
Comstar
Comstar - United TeleSystems JSC ("Comstar" or "the Group") (LSE: CMST) is the leading integrated telecommunications operator in Russia and the CIS, both in terms of revenues and subscribers. It incorporates Moscow City Telephone Network JSC, a premier fixed-line operator in Moscow, and Comstar Direct, leading broadband Internet provider in Moscow. The Group's controlling stake belongs to Sistema Joint Stock Financial Corporation. Since February 2006, Comstar GDRs have been listed under the "CMST" ticker on the London Stock Exchange.
In December 2007 Comstar signed the strategic agreement with Intel to synchronize the efforts on the Comstar's WiMAX network deployment with Intel road map of WiMAX devices.
Intel and Comstar agreed to market jointly WiMAX based services and collaborate on simplifying the subscription process. Joint efforts will be made to preinstall necessary network settings on notebooks based on Intel architecture. A client will need to simply click a Comstar icon on the desktop to connect to the Comstar's WiMAX network. Additionally the company will provide a convenient charging of all services with a single account.
The mission of Comstar is to provide the optimal combination of Wi-Fi and WiMAX technologies, so the customers will have mobile broadband access from everywhere in the most simple and efficient way.
UQ Communications
I strongly believe Mobile WiMAX is based on global standard and is the only one wireless broadband technology to open up new market segment through market penetration of WiMAX chip embedded devices.
The new arrival of UMPC and MID with WiMAX module will fill the current gap between mobile phone and mobile PCs, that will eventually change the status quo of mobile communication.
UQ Communications selected Mobile WiMAX as the best technology choice based on our strong belief, that in light of wide global adoption, recent dramatic data traffic increase, and the increased necessity to respond global roaming requirement, it is the technology to respond to various customer needs fully with shortest time to market.
UQ Communications will make every efforts with cooperation with Intel Corporation to create new wireless broadband market in Japan and to make Mobile WiMAX as a necessary social infrastructure here in Japan.

DBD Beutsche Breitband Dienste GmbH
DBD Deutsche Breitband Dienste GmbH is a telecommunication company that operates across Germany to provide customers with broadband access to the internet. The company headquarters is located in Heidelberg, Germany. DBD services are based on the new wireless technology WiMAX, which is supported by chipmaker Intel. Through its DSLonair service the company offers high-speed internet access to residential homes as well as small and medium enterprises in rural areas not fully covered by DSL services. In metropolitan areas DBD offers both WiMAX broadband Internet access and voice over IP (VoIP) through its MAXXonair service. More information is available at www.dslonair.de and www.MAXXonair.de.
In autumn 2008 DBD will launch the first 4th generation (IEEE 802.16e) WiMAX network.
Overall Vision: Mobile Broadband Internet access, including voice service, available anywhere, anytime at affordable rates.
Why did we choose WiMAX?
WiMAX was the logical choice for DBD because it is available today, and it works. It is allowing us to successfully execute our vision of mobile broadband internet access, available anywhere, anytime and at affordable rates.
DBD highly values the fact that WiMAX is a worldwide standard unlike, for example GSM and CDMA, and is designed as an open platform. The inherent economy of scale and reasonable CPE costs are integral to realizing our overall vision. WiMAX's superiority over other currently available technologies like UMTS/HSPA is a no-brainer. And, of course, the fact that WiMAX has a time advantage over the next generation of other mobile broadband technologies (LTE) only reinforced the ultimate decision to go with WiMAX.
Packet 1 Networks
Welcome to P1. Welcome to the future of the Internet!
We stand poised at the threshold of a new era of human communications as we strive to be the beacon for the wireless world, and the world is watching. We are building a legacy at P1, and you are all part of the revolution. As Alan Kay, renowned computer scientist and architect of the Graphical User Interface once said, "The best way to predict the future is to invent it". Here's how we're doing just that.
P1 will be one of the first in the world to commercially deploy and build one of the largest WiMAX networks on the 2.3Ghz band, underlining our commitment to put Malaysia on the world map. All the building blocks are in place as we prepare to provide WiMAX coverage for 25 percent of the population in Malaysia (6.5 million people) by the end of 2008 and 40 percent of the population in Malaysia (10 million people) by the end of 2010.
At P1, our guiding philosophy is simple—we live by the 3 Cs—a company that is Competitive, a good Community citizen, and is Challenging conventions and mindsets in every aspect as we strive to define our place in the new wireless frontier. There is no place for empty promises in our world. This is our commitment to you. YOU are an important part of the community in which we operate, and we are grateful to have you along for the ride.
This is a crucial period in the short history of our company and our brand; our actions will define just exactly what it means to be P1, and we aim to enable the world to 'unwire at Science Fiction speeds' to change the way you live, work, learn, and play in the future-forward world of P1.

XOHM
What is XOHM?
XOHM is next generation mobile broadband that lets you connect in more places, more often, anywhere there's coverage.
Together with our world-class ecosystem partners like Intel, we're working to create an easier, more open Internet experience that expands beyond hotspots and computer based access. XOHM will give you more connections to the people you need, the entertainment you love, and the information you can't live without.
XOHM takes the mobility you love about your cell phone and combines it with the speed you want from broadband. With speeds comparable to DSL or Cable, the full internet and everything you do with it can now come along with you. There are no quality compromises here, even if you're watching hi-def video online. This gives you freedom from cords and hotspots.
And with XOHM you have choices. Choice in how you want to pay and for how long. Choice of what kind of device you want to use. Choice of where you want to use your serviceᾹhome, on the go or both.
What is WiMAX:
XOHM is powered by WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access), a new wireless internet technology that's designed to be mobile. That means you get broadband speeds that let you do the same things you do at home or in the office, while on the go.
